A bit late this week in getting the post out, I’m aiming for Sunday evenings really!
So this last week I have been working on my lighthouse cross stitch, I feel like the end is in sight with this one but it is taking me way longer than I would have liked.

You can see how little I have left so it won’t be long, but I am already itching to get started on my next cross stitch pattern!
I have started to do some tapestry crochet – Blog post about what I have learnt on that coming soon. It’s been a learning curve, for someone who has been crocheting for a number of years it has been nice to learn a new technique. This is my second attempt at this pattern, the first one got frogged as my tension was off making it curved and I also mis-counted a couple of stitches which threw the whole thing off (I think you can probably guess some of the things I have learnt so far! haha!)

You might recognise the pattern from some of my earlier posts, in particular the one about my stack of cross stitch hoops (which are still sat in a pile waiting to be backed!) The pattern is by Lakza and you can purchase the pattern on Etsy, she has so many great other great designs as well. I think the moth one might be next on my list!
I have also recently bought a new punch needle as well, if you follow me on instagram then you might remember I gave it a go a couple of years ago and I have decided to give it another go. I got the punch ultra needle so it can handle up to DK it would seem, I tried to use it with drops paris which is an aran weight, it seems to handle some of them but for the most part its just that little bit too thick. It is working really well with cygnet cotton DK so I think I will be buying more.
I went to Hobbycraft on Friday and bought way too much stuff, but have you really been to Hobbycraft if you don’t do that?!
I got a couple of box frames. I plan to make one of them into a display case for Bear’s fossilised shark teeth and dinosaur poo and cut out some vinyl stickers to go inside it. I bought the 25cm ones, when ideally I should have gone for the next size down. The other idea I want to make is from Cricut design space itself and it is a dinorsaur 3D landscape picture. I’m not sure which one I am going to do yet, I think I will let Bear pick.
At the weekend Bear asked me to make him a colossal snake, so I popped onto Etsy and found a pattern. I probably could have made one up, but decided to just buy one instead. I had some yarn left over from the dinosaurs and I’m really happy with how it turned out and Bear LOVES it! It measures just over a metre long too.

I’d love to know what you have been making – let me know in the comments!
