This is the first scheduled post I have done so I’m hoping it works as I am away with work this week so have written this over the weekend.

I hope everyone had a good bank holiday weekend and got to celebrate with loved ones etc. I hope work is not feeling too bad after the long weekend and the clocks going forward. Are you one of those people who for the first week think “well it’s really only X o’clock” I know I am so getting up early is always pain for me!

I have been trying my hand at embroidery lately, after being so inspired by others on instagram. I’ve been thinking about adding embroidered items to my Etsy shop lately as crocheted items just take so long it is really hard to make money (if any) off them, but that’s a whole other post!

I found some really nice patterns over on urban threads so now that I have my magic pen I can draw my patterns straight onto the fabric. The pattern I’m doing at the moment is a skull themed one (we all know how much I love skulls!)

As I’m still a beginner with embroidery I’ve been doing a back stitch for all of it. I will be trying a few other techniques on this piece and I will making a second version which is filled in using satin stitch as well. I just hope when I go to wash the pen off the thread doesn’t run, but this is all about experimenting and I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

how are all your WIPs going this week?

xoxo

This is absolutely fantastic, once again. I don’t yet know how to embroider but I cannot wait to learn. You are fantastic. I would never have even thought about embroidering something like this but it is amazing!
