So I have been a bit absent of late, this is partly due to me being on holiday but for the last week I have also had a horrible flu/cold virus which has been horrendous!

My holiday was amazing though as D and I went to Zermatt in Switzerland. Zermatt is by the Italian border and if you buy an area pass you can go over to Cervinia in Italy.

Zermatt is a gorgeous village, that doesn’t allow cars in it at all, so to get to the village you have to get a train from tasch and to get around in the village they have electric vehicles or horse and carriages.  We stayed in a lovely hotel called hotel holiday which had such nice food and catered very well for vegetarians.

The snow was amazing and we had some great powder days and the resort gave you lots of different levels of runs, although I will say that the blues are some of the steepest I have been on. There were fantastic views of the matterhorn wherever you were in the village on on the mountain.

The village itself has plenty of boutique shops but if you’re into labels such as Burton,  roxy and vans etc then you won’t get them here, it’s much more high end, think gucci, rolex and ray ban.

Zermatt was quite expensive too, for a portion of chips and cokes you were looking at about £9 – £12 depending where you went.

I was really impressed with Zermatt and I would definitely go back there.
