Well it’s been a while since I did one of these posts… so what have been making this week?

I’ve still been working on my lighthouse cross stitch (pattern available on Etsy) I’ve got just under half left I think. A lot of it is black as well so I feel like it will be good to do in the evenings when I don’t want to concentrate so much.

Years ago I wanted to make a starburst granny square blanket, but surprise! I never got around to it. I’ve been seeing loads of sunflower bags on Instagram so I wanted to give one a go. Originally it was going to be a birthday present for a friend, who was visiting the UK, but I didn’t complete it in time as I ran out of cream yarn, so she got something else handmade instead. This sunflower tote will be added to my shop once it’s finished.

It’s a really nice pattern by 365 Crochet and easy to follow, I’d definitely recommend it.

I also managed to make some more Jesmonite trinket trays, I’m slowly trying to build up stock as I’m hoping to do some craft fairs, although all my local ones are full so I am on a couple of waiting lists. It’s been years since I did regular craft fairs so I’m hoping 2024 will bring more opportunities.

These trinket trays are made using scrap bits of jesmonite to get that terrazzo effect, I’ve been gradually saving up my chips, I always forget how much the mix needs. These ones are waiting to be sanded, so check back next week as I should have done them by then!
