I keep seeing hexagons everywhere at the moment and I love floating shelves so I thought I would combine them both and create my own hexagon floating shelf.

It’s such a simple but effective craft project and I think looks great, you could paint or stain the sticks before your use them as well to change it up a bit.

To make your own, you will need:

• Jumbo lollipop sticks
• PVA glue

Method:

1. Line up your 6 lollipop stitch’s to make a hexagon, layering them so that the ends overlap each other
2. Glue the ends to each other and adjust as necessary
3. Leave to dry slightly and then start the next layer by dabbing a bit of PVA to each corner and add another stick, layering as you go. You’ll always end up with one stick not having either ends layered.
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until you reach your desired depth.

Make sure to keep checking your edges are level, mine went a bit wonky, which I didn’t notice until it had dried and meant when I went to put my plant pot on it, it was a bit wobbly.
