I’m always on the lookout for snack ideas for Bear and these cookies hit all of our sweet tooth’s, without being too laden with sugar.

You will need:
- 200g porridge oats
- 150g plain flour
- 100g sugar
- 1tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 3tsp ground cinnamon
- 75ml of maple syrup
- 100g unsalted butter
- 1tsp vanilla essence
- 90g apple purée
- Baking tray
- Grease proof paper

How to make:
- Preheat oven to 180c fan oven
- Add flour, oats, bicarbonate of soda and the ground cinnamon and mix together
- Add in the melted butter and mix until combined
- Add in the apple purée and vanilla essence and mix until combined
- Take a small tablespoon amount and roll them into a ball and place on the lined baking tray
- Squash down until flat, but try and keep them about 1.5 cm thick
- Place in the oven and bake for around 8 minutes and bake until golden
- Take out the oven and leave to cool

Tips:
- These will keep for about 5 days in an airtight container (if they last that long!!
- You could swap out the butter for dairy free or coconut oil to make it dairy free
- I’ve seen similar recipes use honey instead of maple syrup as well
- You could make your own fruit purée
I hope you find them as delicious as us, let me know in the comments if you try them!
