Another month has gone by in the blink of an eye. The weather has been absolutely dire where I am. Nothing really but rain and wind. As I write now, I can hear the rain pouring down and hitting the conservatory roof. It’s so loud!

I’ve been running / walking a lot this month in a bid to get some fitness back and I’m doing 100km challenge this month. I ran a 10k this morning and my legs are feeling rather tired.

I’ve started yet another crochet project – a hey duggee blanket for the bear (blog post on that at a later date!) I’m in denial about how many projects I have on the go at the moment!

When I wrote this tutorial I’d been wanting to make a paint pour pot for ages and I actually really enjoyed making it. It was really therapeutic watching the paint run down the pot.

It’s so simple but really effective, I think any age could make it really.

What you need:

> Terracotta plant pot

> Acrylic paint (I used poster paint as it was all I had in house but acrylic would be better)

> Something to protect the floor

What to do:

Step 1) It’s best to do this activity outside!

Step 2) Place your pot on top of something to suspend it – I used one of my paint bottles and placed some kitchen roll underneath

Step 3) If your pot has a hole in the bottom then tape this up to stop paint going inside the pot.

Step 4) As an optional step you can paint your pot first in a contrasting colour.

Step 5) Pour your first colour onto the pot starting in the centre and let it drip down the sides, you’ll need quite a bit of paint to get it to start running down the sides

Step 6) Pick another colour and pour this over too, repeat this step until you get the effect you want. You might want to put a few drops of paint near the edge of the pot too.

Step 7) Leave the pot somewhere safe to dry and decide what to put in there! It’s best to keep these pots indoors to protect the paint, but if you want to put them outside then you will need to seal them using a sealant spray.

I’d love to see what you colours you pick if you give it a go!
