I realised the other day that I never posted on here that we got kittens! We adopted them back in September from the Cats Action Trust.
They are called Pia and Pica and are full of character! I’ve never really had a cat before, as when I was little the cat we had then died when I was 5 and my mum and dad didn’t want to get another one. Then as an adult I was living in rented accommodation and having a pet wasn’t always possible.
When D and I got together he had a cat, who was lovely and when we lived together at his mum and dads the cat stayed in the main house where we were in the annex. He was a softy of a cat who I adored but sadly he died of old age last year.
We weren’t looking for a specific type of cat, I’m happy with a moggy, but I quite fancied a ginger tom cat, and D wanted to have a cat that had completely different markings to his old cat. I had been checking the cats action trust website since before we moved and in spetember we decided that we should enquire. I spoke to a lovely lady on the phone who suggested if we were getting a kitten and were out a lot we should look at getting two so they had company during the day and knew how to socialise. We initially enquired about two cats from different litters but the fosterer decided that one of the cats needed someone at home with them for the majority of the day. So we went back to the site and saw two sisters and went to see them on the Monday and took them home with us the following Sunday.
So here they are! They are called Pia and Pica. (if you follow me on instagram you will be aware of the fact that I am slightly obsessed with posting pictures of them!!)
Aren’t they cute?!? I know I am slightly biased but even so. They are so different in temperament and are very much lap cats. Although they tend to swap over which lap they prefer and if Pia is sitting on D’s lap Pica will sit on top of her until she moves! Pica definitely prefers D at the moment although in the beginning it was me she preferred. Fickle! Lol!
They have grown so much since we first got them, and they are now venturing outside and loving it, even when it is raining!
Pia has a damaged nose, but I think this just adds to her character and makes her look like a bat or a pug! They are very vocal and chat away to each other and to D and I and they love their food!
Well that’s enough cat spam for now! You will see more of them that’s for sure!
