Goodness, I can’t believe that it has been over a month since I last posted anything. Sorry! I don’t know where the time has gone. I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas an New Year and enjoyed getting into the festive spirit.
I had quite a few craft fairs before Christmas so spent a lot of my spare time trying to make things for that and I had two weeks off from work which was lovely and spent a lot of time with family and eating! I haven’t done much making over the last few weeks, but did complete two custom beanies for a customer.
I also made some minion hats for D’s nephews, which they loved. I never got to take a picture of the finished hats as the minute they were finished they were immediately placed on their heads not to be taken off until they got home! I also made myself some needle and hook holders and will be writing up the pattern this week so that you can all make them too. I would be lost without my holders as I was constantly losing my knitting needles and crochet hooks.
What did you all do over Christmas? Did you all manage to get some Christmas making in?
I have a few new years resolutions too this year. They are:
- To get fitter – I am terrible at staying motivated with my fitness and I get bored quickly with gym routines etc.. I bought a kettle bell and a pull up bar so in three months time I want to be able to do at least one pull up and one chin up.
- To eat better – Again I am terrible and tend to go for unhealthy snacks. My job can make it difficult to have a regular eating pattern so I need to become more organised with my cooking.
- To blog on a more regular basis – I am aiming for once a week and I think I will expand the blog to include more about food and fitness as well so that it will encourage me to stay motivated and hopefully it will also be interesting to you readers out there
- To put more tutorials on the blog with things that I make. – I want to make my blog more interactive.
I also started to take part in a crochet a long through instagram and Facebook called the crochet mood blanket 2014. You can find it on instagram using #crochetmoodblanket2014 and there is a group on Facebook called crochet mood blanket 2014. The aim of the CAL is to make a square, stripe or hexagon etc either every day or once a week to reflect your mood. You can use your own colour chart or use ones that other people have already posted.
I have decided to do one a day although I am a bit behind with my blocks at the moment, as I have only done 4 so far, but I plan to catch up today.
These are the first three blocks, I have designed the block myself and I am using a join as you go method as used by Lucy over at attic24. I will post a pattern once I get down properly as I am still tweaking it as I go as my maths isn’t amazing and going from circle to square can be a bit of a challenge.
I am also planning on making a weather blanket after seeing one on instagram by lululovescrochet, hers was beautiful and I really like the idea. Both are great stash busting projects which are the type of projects I need at the moment.
Talking of stash busting projects I’ve also started a 5 strand blanket as well to use up all my odd balls of wool from old projects. I also bought some eyelash yarn to make it a bit more soft to the touch and squishy. I can’t wait to show you how it’s coming along once I have done a bit more, but here’s a sneak peak
I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday!
xoxo
