I have four craft fairs between now and Christmas so I am trying to make some Christmas themed crafts to sell at these markets and also list on my Etsy shop.

I have a bit of an obsession with Christmas wreaths at the moment (if you follow me on pinterest then I’m sure you will have noticed!) so off the spur of the moment I ordered 6 polystyrene wreaths from amazon and some polystyrene baubles. I’ve used my hoopla yarn to wrap round one of them and at the weekend I also started a crochet one as well, but this one is taking ages and it’s making my shoulder hurt so I may have to keep on with the hoopla yarn instead. I’ve been crocheting round it like it is a giant bracelet!

Just got to decide how to decorate it now and then I will do a tutorial! πŸ™‚

I also decided to crochet up some granny stars and Christmas trees (patterns are from The Royal Sisters), I made some for mine and D’s Christmas tree last year and I love them, so I had to make some more. This time I have been using Lily Sugar and Cream yarn which I ordered over from the U.S. Its cotton yarn and is worsted weight so I find that a 5mm hook works best with it although you can also use a 4mm but I find the yarn can be quite stiff and I seem to split it more using a 4mm hook.

I’ve also made a decoration using Attic24’s bauble pattern, again using the Lily Sugar and Cream yarn, I’m not sure that it’s that well suited to the pattern, I used a 4mm hook and it was quite hard to get the yarn to behave the way that I wanted, so I think I will go back to the 5mm hook and also use the magic loop method rather than chaining the initial circle. I’ve not done the technique for the final round before, it’s definitely something I will be doing more of and I think when I design my own I will use this stitch a lot.

I bought some felted balls a few weeks ago with the view to use them for Christmas decorations so I have been having a play with them this morning before I went to work. I can’t wait to make them up as they are so cute!!!

I’m also planning on making this little guy again and seeing if I can adapt the pattern to make a bigger one, as he is diddy and cute!

What have you all been making lately? Have you started any Christmas crafting yet? I’d love to hear what you have been making!
